Despite what most people think, the prophetical portions of the Bible have very little to do with foretelling the future or the end of the world.  In fact, less than 5% of all the prophetical books have anything at all to do with the coming of the Messiah and less than 1% speak to anything occurring in our lifetime.  So why study them?  Because we learn about God's passion for keeping His people obedient to the covenant.
